Hello! My name is Cameron Vilcsak
I would like to thank you for taking the time to read more about my company and its origin story. Mountain Fire Woodworks is a passion project of mine. A way for me to escape the normal, practice a craft, and express myself through an arduous rewarding experience unlike anything else. I was honoured by Chris Guillebeau - New York Times best seller four times over - with an episode of his podcast dedicated to Mountain Fire Woodworks origin story. Which you can listen to below if you are interested.
Since The podcast…
As Mountain Fire Woodworks experiences growth it evolves closer to my original vision - off grid, eco-friendly log buildings, chainsaw carvings, and video production. My latest project was a culmination of all three which reiterated my vision and provided ample motivation to continue in this direction. It was a passing of the torch project, a 1500 sq. ft off-grid cabin nestled in the Canadian Rockies of British Columbia. My Grandfather, a seasoned craftsmen of log work, wanted to build a log home with my brother and myself before passing the tools along. At 78 he figured he had built his fair share of log structures and that it was his grandson’s turn now.
Now…
I have just moved into my dream shop in Vancouver, Canada. Completing commissioned carvings, accent pieces, and furniture. This is the location I use to design, plan, and coordinate with possible log cabin clients as well. Feel free to book an appointment and stop by for a visit.
